New York, New York Enter campus at 116th St. gates, at Broadway or Amsterdam Avenue New York, New York Open Daily Website In 1996, Columbia University began a Master Planning Framework Study with architects Beyer Blinder Belle and a group of other professionals to evaluate the conditions at Columbia and to make proposals for the future of the campus. Lynden Miller was part of that team, studying the landscape and its plantings, lawns and trees. After the Planning Framework Study was published, Columbia hired Mrs. Miller to continue her relationship with the University and begin improving the appearance of the campus. Besides creating elegant colorful plantings where appropriate, she has worked to educate and inspire the maintenance staff to give more attention and care to the grounds. Despite predictions to the contrary, the Columbia community has responded with pleasure and appreciation to the beautification of the entire Morningside campus. |
