97th Street Pocket Park

Park Avenue between East 96th and East 97th Streets
New York, New York

This East Harlem one-block-long neighborhood park was designed by Lynden B. Miller for the Parks Department in 2006. The design incorporates lots of seating and very low-maintenance trees, shrubs, and perennials for four-season interest. This little oasis has greatly enhanced the surrounding neighborhood, attracting new shops and year-round visitors.
